Other new ASUS products: Monitors, and a Reverse Screen Laptopby Ian Cutress on June 4, 2012 5:15 AM EST

Not content with just showing the Transformer concept to AIOs and Notebooks, ASUS had another couple of new interesting devices of note in our press conference today. The first is their new monitor range, earmarked as the DesignoMX Series. As a set of ‘bezel free’ models, the MX279H (27”) and MX239H (23”) are slated to offer 178-degree viewing angles, matte IPS panels, Bang and Olufson audio, and dual HDMI ports.
As for the ASUS Taichi, this is an interesting concept, if not a little abstract. Take your notebook, and imagine putting a second screen on the lid so that other people could see what you are writing, or watching a presentation that is being played specifically on that screen. Yes, that’s the concept behind the Taichi - it's a single-plane, dual-screen Ultrabook.
Specifications for the Taichi were slim – Ivy Bridge processors in 11.6” and 13.3” form factors, SSD storage as well as being ‘as light and thin as the ASUS Zenbook’.

Zane K - Monday, June 4, 2012 - linkUnfortunately, whilst there is no bezel, there is still a boarder, not what I think you thought they meant.

AmdInside - Monday, June 4, 2012 - linkCan't believe in 2012, LCD manufacturers are still shipping monitors with VGA in. Let it die already. I'd rather have two HDMI and one DVI port.
dananski - Monday, June 4, 2012 - linkThey may also miss out on people who need displayport in order to use the extra montor. Stupid eyefinity limitation...grumblegrumblegrumble...
semo - Monday, June 4, 2012 - linkExactly. DP should be standard as there are no royalties to pay like for HDMI
cuteboy17 - Monday, June 4, 2012 - linkI wish the outside tablet display has a corning gorilla glass 2.0 protection :)
soloburrito - Tuesday, June 5, 2012 - linkLooks like 1080p to me from the video posted above. When are we going to see the flood of 2560x1440 27" panels on the market instead of having to rely on ebay?
