AMD Crossfire Freesync Update: Delayed
by Ryan Smith on April 30, 2015 6:45 PM ESTWhen AMD launched Freesync back in March, one of the limitations of the initial launch version was that only single-GPU configurations were supported. Multi-GPU Crossfire systems could not be used with Freesync, requiring users to trade-off between Crossfire and Freesync. At the time AMD claimed that Crossfire Freesync support would be coming in April, however as April comes to a close it has become clear that such a release isn’t going to happen.
To that end, AMD has posted a short update on the status of Crossfire Freesync over on their forums. In the update, AMD states that after QA testing they believe that Crossfire Freesync is “is not quite ready for release” and that they will be holding it back as a result. Unfortunately AMD is not committing to a new release date for the feature, but given the fact that it’s more important to get this right than to get it out quickly, this is likely for the best.

Wow, I don't know who has worse of a life, chizow for writing all this, or me for reading it all. Probably me for reading it all. I think I'm going to go pull my r9 295x2 out and hug it in the corner sucking my thumb and cry.JTWrenn - Monday, June 15, 2015 - link
I don't think the issue really is wether freesync is better than gsync or vice versa. The issue is that nvidia should support freesync as well as gsync. If gsync is much better than they should have nothing to fear as those willing to pay more will pay more. Simple and easy.I haven't had hands on experience with both so I have no idea which is better even with the reviews. Also, I am betting that it will be different depending on the implementation by the monitor manufacturers. So none of that matters to me. I will have to decide which I want. The issue is right now I can't. I feel like I have to pick a monitor then match my computer to it...and that is crazy.
Open it all up as much as they can. Nvidia shoudl support freesync. Then they will have the best platform. Right now the market will be muddled and make it harder for people to get into pc gaming and stay there. This tech could have really boosted the market by making pc gaming smooth and tear free...instead we get two companies going for money..nvidia more so with proprietary tech. Bad for all around.
