  I agree with this. I rather hate my xbox360's massive power brick (the 150W is smaller than the 203W I still have, and apparently doesn't need a fan, either).
  
  Also, I am, too, looking forward to pics of the IHS lifted off, to see if it's a monolithic CPU/GPU die, or is it a multi chip module?

  The PS3 always had an internal PSU... If the 360 had an internal PSU, the failure rates would even worse by the heat generated.

  1. Do you know how big the fan is? Is it 80, 90, or 120mm?
  
  1a. Is the fan sucking cool air through the side panel like a traditional cpu fan or is reversed? Meaning its blowing hot air from the side panel.
  
  1b. Could you possibly put some temperature diodes inside the xbox case (closed) to monitor how warm the ambient temperature is also how hot the intergrated cpu/gpu gets when in idle and when running a game?
  
  2. How much ram does the onboard flash have? Is it still 512MB just like the jasper consoles?
  
  3. Were you able to lift the heatsheld off the GPU/CPU to see if the chips like the CPU, GPU, and Edram were all integrated into one die, or are they separate dies?.
  
  4. Could you possibly test the bandwidth for the wireless n module. To do the test you would need to run DD-WRT or a router that monitors the current bandwidth. Connect the xbox to WMC, and stream a high bitrate video from the PC to the Xbox console. You should be able to read the avgs from the router.

  Look at the freaking pictures, its obvious the way the fan is laid out that its sucking air through the side vents and pulling it through the heatsink, not blowing down on the heat sink and out of the vents.

  Looking at the pictures what do you all think, does it look better or about the same? Im a noobie on the 360 and have stayed away from it because of hardware problems so I am sort of curious.

  I dont know, honestly I think the matte old Elite maybe looks better (I think the old Elite is pretty much the best looking console ever) which is another reason I'm resisting jumping on the bandwagon and selling my old Elite and getting one of these like so many people seem to be doing.
  
  But it's hard to resist the lure of just something shiny and new...
  
  Regardless, these seem to be selling like hotcakes, and the Ps3 slim did well too (though to be fair that was accompanied by a $100 price drop). It seems just redesigning the system alone can spur a lot of sales from repeat buyers and new excitement around the system.
  
  I wouldn't worry about hardware problems, I've had a 360 since launch and only had one RROD in 4.5 years ("only" lol) and that was a easy and free two week process to get replaced. And that was like 3 years ago on my launch Arcade. And I dont have any concerns about my Elite I bought a couple years ago at all. As I understand it since the Jasper chipset RROD is basically a solved problem, and Jasper chipset failure rates are very low, in line with any other electronics or consoles now. And all 360's sold have been Jaspers for years. If anything I might be a little more worried about one of these new units since theyre untested, but I wouldn't be worried about either one.

  Thanks for the pics just a small suggestion for you or your webmaster. The Gallery pics when using the "Previous" and "Next" functions refreshes the page and scroll/rejustifies the browser to the top of the page, so you have to scroll down again to expose the "Next" button again. After 4-5 refreshes this can become quite tedious.
  
  A better solution would be to keep the same scroll pointer on a page refresh or to move the Previous and Next buttons above the pictures instead.

  The gallery is definitely in need of improvement, thankfully we have this and more on the list to be fixed in the coming weeks :)
  
  We want to ultimately get rid of page refreshes on the gallery just as we did with page refreshes for posting replies to comments. All in due time :)

  With the Ps3 slim Sony went to all 45nm (I think?) while MS was still stuck on like 65/80. But Now MS has leapfrogged a step ahead, with presumably all 45nm AND a combined CPU/GPU on one package.
